When I discovered Destiny, it, for a time, turned my life upside down. I was constantly either thinking about Destiny, building or designing decks, analysing, results, or (quite often) making graphs. Around the time the imitable YourDestiny folded, Oli (Echo3ofClubs) and I were discussing the lack of content around the UK Destiny meta. We founded echobase, with the wonderful Mark Lockett (LandoWonka) joining us a couple of months later.
The website echobase.me has been running for 6 years, and I believe it’s been a valuable resource for players and fans of the game throughout that time. From tournament and deck analysis, to tracking the meta through the years, we’ve received over 90,000 hits. However, since summer 2023 we’ve only published one article, and I haven’t written a single article in the last 2 years. While we still got 2,000 hits in 2025, with the domain name renewal coming up next month, it felt like it was time to wrap up echobase.me. We’ve had a few Patreon supporters over the years (special thanks go to Erik and Lee) who between them just about funded the subscription, so this has never been a financial burden. However, quite rightly we now have no Patreon supporters, so it’s at risk of becoming one.
This means that from now on you won’t be able to visit echobase.me. However, everything we’ve ever written will live on, just at a different address: https://echothreetoechoseven.wordpress.com/.

I’ve made a lot of friends along the way, some of whom I’ve never actually met in person. This community is amazing, and it’s been a privilege to play a part in it. I’ll still be around in the background at ARH; you might see me pop up on discord from time to time; maybe I’ll bump into you at the UK Games Expo when I finally make it (possibly with a young child in tow); maybe we’ll even get a game of Destiny in (I still have shelves loaded with every card ever printed, as well as almost every promo).
The web address will disappear, but echobase will never really be gone.
